My Wife

When one reads the title of this post there are many jokes that might come to mind... My Wife the boss, My Wife the cook, Etc. But there is really only one thing that really sticks out to me... she is very cute. Today she went out to buy groceries and managed to come back with many items to help her with relief teaching. I have not said it before on this blog, but my wife is a qualified teacher and will be starting her teaching career this year.

She was very excited to show me the contents of the box... the box that was dumped on the table nearly collapsing it. If it was not for a strong and manly husband we would not currently have a table... well, that is the way that I will be telling it for years to come anyway :-) She had playing cards, dominoes, flash cards, stickers, colour in books, activity books, play money, and many craft items, etc.

It is both cute and amazing the joy that she has for what she has trained to do. As you would expect with everyone starting a job after many years of study she is of course a little nervous. But I know my wife and she will be the best teacher that anyone could possibly have, she will be the teacher that everyone loves and that everyone remembers as being the one to encourage and help them the most. She is one of the reasons that I have decided to become a teacher, there are others, but I guess anyone that reads my blog will just have to wait until my next post to find out my main reason for becoming a teacher.

Embarking...

Hi all, my name is Julian and I am now an official Student Teacher. It has already been a bit of a trip to get to where I am today. I have been considering teaching for a year or two and finally made up my mind to apply to study it through the University of Tasmania.

It would have been a couple of months ago that I applied and over the a period of about a month I was waiting to see if I would get an offer from the Uni. The whole time I was constantly checking my email and online university account to see what the progress on my application was.

The day finally came that I got my offer and it was a bitter sweet day, as even though you get the offer and you then enrol, you still have to wait for your course to get approved and then for your classes to also get approved as well. So yet again I was back to checking emails and my online account. So after about a month of sweating and worrying that I had possibly forgotten to do something I finally received confirmation that everything was approved.

The next step will be to head into the university and get the required texts.

All that I can currently say is that I am very excited to be going back to study. I look forward to helping and directing my students through, over or possibly around any obstacles that might stand in their way.
